*Upgrade Item*: wooden 'checker-style' playing pieces for hnefatafl games produced by IGNITED Arts & Design; each set created to complement the overall board design. Produced from 1/4-inch thick furniture/cabinet-grade ply (typically maple and walnut), and engraved with thematic designs. Add another level of detail to your hnefatafl game!
This is a MADE TO ORDER upgrade item, typically requiring an additional 3-5 days for completion. The pictures shown are for example only; game boards are not included. This item should only be purchased in conjunction with a full-size hnefatafl board order. Past customers purchasing a set for a previously created board should contact me if there have been any changes in name, the board was a gift and shipped directly to the recipient, etc. - so that I may 'match-up' the created board with the newly created pieces.
PLEASE be sure to select the correct number of pieces required for your board order within the ranges provided below. Use the Personalization Box and the Sample Chart (located in the Photos) to request your desired shape and design for each player. The King piece will be a double-stacked version of whatever Defender Shape/Design is selected.

DESCRIPTION:
• Wooden checker-style playing pieces produced from quality cabinet-grade hardwood ply, laser-engraved and precisely cut. Checker pieces are almost 1-inch in diameter, fitting perfectly within the squares of the playing grid. Typically the King piece will be twice the height of the other pieces. Each piece has a thin cork pad affixed to the bottom, which helps prevent inadvertent sliding on the board, as well as protection of the board surface.

I am a one-man show, with no ‘production partners’ to help mass-produce any item (though I will source pawns, etc. from quality reputable dealers). Be assured that when you buy an item from me, you are getting a distinctive creation from the original maker. Given the inherent nature of the handcrafted work, time frames for more complex creations, whether the complexity is the art, the build, or a combination of both, can be extensive. Please be patient; I communicate and update customers regularly with the status of their unique creation(s).

Holiday ordering
During the Christmas holiday season, I can quickly become VERY busy; typically putting in 12 hour days in order to make holiday shipping deadlines.
Please plan ahead - I begin taking Christmas orders in late August, but due to workload, I will close the shop to further made-to-order requests the first week of December. Ready to ship items remain listed and ship as stated in their listing.
Shipping times
In the case of any custom or Made To Order item, I try very hard to meet the listed production/ship time for the listed item. However, I am a one-man shop, and the handcrafted nature of the work, particularly during busy periods, can cause delays. If you require your item by a specific date, please inquire first. I cannot heap enough praise on the exquisite level of elite craftsmanship that went into these wooden game pieces. The look far better in real life than the Etsy picture (which do not do them justice). These have far exceeded my expectations, they look like polished copper, and I was not aware that each piece was come with a pre-attached custom-made phenomenal cork backing. Each laser carved top and overall shape are clean, crisp, clear, and magnificently stained just the right amount. They even come with a burlap holding bag. I think the vendor included a few extra pieces as well. The shipping was quick and very well packaged. If you are looking for top of the line Hnefatafl game pieces, you can stop looking! This should be the only source that you consider for such a purchase - hands down!
