Safeguard your personal hoard of keepsakes, small treasures, or sentimental items within this stout and spacious handcrafted wooden chest. Featuring detailed knotwork-style engravings on the exterior surfaces and an interior fully lined in velvet, this sturdy chest can hold a great number of important and valuable artifacts. A magnetic wooden latch keeps the lid securely closed, and the top is decorated with an engraved, hand-painted medallion depicting the Norse hero Sigurd slaying the dragon Fafnir – a design originating from a 12th-century stave church in Norway. This chest is a great functional addition to the collections of Nordic enthusiasts as well as those who appreciate finely-crafted wooden boxes, and will surely fulfill its purpose for many years to come.

• MATERIALS USED: birch plywood, water-based stains, acrylic paints, EVA foam, velvet
• CUSTOMIZATIONS AVAILABLE: selectable stain color for the chest walls and metallic color for the top emblem/medallion. A stain color sample chart is included in the Photos. In all creations, the corner braces, handles, and top emblem frame will be stained in an iron or steel-type color. Velvet color is at the discretion of the maker, but will always complement the chosen stain color. A plaque for an engraved dedication can be installed on the lid interior; see 'Personalization' to request this option.

Due to the nature of the majority of my work, and the typical amount of business that comes through my shop, wholesale items are not available.

Holiday ordering
During the Christmas holiday season, I can quickly become VERY busy; typically putting in 12 hour days in order to make holiday shipping deadlines.
Please plan ahead - I begin taking Christmas orders in late August, but due to workload, I will close the shop to further made-to-order requests the first week of December. Ready to ship items remain listed and ship as stated in their listing.
Shipping times
In the case of any custom or Made To Order item, I try very hard to meet the listed production/ship time for the listed item. However, I am a one-man shop, and the handcrafted nature of the work, particularly during busy periods, can cause delays. If you require your item by a specific date, please inquire first.
