Discover the wisdom of the runes with this incredibly detailed runes set and box! This hexagonal wooden box, complete with a full set of hardwood Elder Futhark runes, serves as a tangible reference to the Viking story of Odin sacrificing his eye for wisdom. Two ravens are engraved on the lid, grasping a resin eye cabochon in their beaks, while historically sourced designs adorn the sides of the box in captivating detail. Crafted from durable birch plywood with double layers and hidden interlocking components, this box offers lasting resilience. A magnetic closure secures the lid, while the interior is luxuriously lined with velvet. The runes are also hexagonal in shape, with the backs of each engraved with the design from the box lid, and are available in customer's choice of ash, cherry, mahogany, or padauk wood. The 25th "Wyrd" rune, traditionally blank, is engraved with a unique design featuring an eye at the center, thus completing the theme. • MEASUREMENTS: 6x5.5x3 inches [exterior LxWxH]; 5.5x4x2.5 inches [interior LxWxH] (widest points of assembled box). Runes are 1.125x1x.25 [WxHxT].

• MATERIALS USED: birch plywood, water-based stains, velvet, magnets, resin; ash, cherry, mahogany, or padauk hardwood
• CUSTOMIZATIONS AVAILABLE: selectable stain color for the raised accent components of the box walls ("STAIN COLOR - BOX FRAMES"), as well as hardwood type for the runes set. Sample charts for stain color and hardwood type are included in the Photos. Please use the drop-down options selectors to indicate your choices. In all creations, the recessed areas of the box walls and lid top will be stained with a deep, rich wood hue, like dark oak or walnut.
🎨 Velvet color and cabochon eye color is selected by the maker and will be complementary to the overall appearance of the completed box. Typical eye color represented will be blue, in reference to the Allfather's eye.

Due to the nature of the majority of my work, and the typical amount of business that comes through my shop, wholesale items are not available.

Holiday ordering
During the Christmas holiday season, I can quickly become VERY busy; typically putting in 12 hour days in order to make holiday shipping deadlines.
Please plan ahead - I begin taking Christmas orders in late August, but due to workload, I will close the shop to further made-to-order requests the first week of December. Ready to ship items remain listed and ship as stated in their listing.
